Known also by the name ‘mother-in-law’s tongue’, this hardy house plant is certainly not as challenging as your mother-in-law. Quite the opposite in fact! Put it in a corner of a well-lit room, set and forget (almost). It handles periods of neglect well, so if you tend to travel often this might be the plant species for you. If you’d like to see it thrive and grow, water it well but only once the soil dries out.
Botanical name Sansevieria spp.
